First off, I am not sure where to place this; I just placed it at cases/chassis. Just correct me if I am wrong.
Second, Merry Christmas!!
Third, the main topic, I got me a Bitfenix Shinobi and I got 5 fans (2 front intakes, 1 back exhaust, and 2 top exhausts), I also have a aftermarket heatsink running on push pull.
With my current setup, do you think I am creating too much negative pressure forcing more dust in? Should I just remove the 2 top exhausts and just have a 2 front intake and 1 back exhaust, or reverse the 2 top exhausts into intakes? Would that be enough to create a postive pressure?
I know dust can't be avoided, I am just trying to lessen the dust accumulation that is occurring right now.
And oh yeah, my temps are still i the safe side of things, albeit, with the dust accumulation. I just want to avoid any problems in the future, so I am trying to solve my dust problems ASAP.
Top as intake isnt a good idea. Check if all intakes got dust filters/meshes. If not buy one or make them yourself with stockings (pantyhose). Negative pressure is still a bad idea since its 2 vs 3. On heatsink there may be a problem due to possibility (or lack of it) to rotate it up soo it would push/pull the air up. If you can do it then go with back as intake like i gave the idea in some other thread here about Fractal R4. For now just try to put up dust filters/meshes if you dont have them on.
I actually got dust filters on, but the ones that came with my chassis isn't doing squat. Probably due to the large holes... however, I'll give the stockings a try.
Check up closer pics of that case. That thing dont have a dust-proof filters. Its just a mesh to get the air to the case. Get the stockings trick under those meshes if you can and on top fans too.
You should hav something like this after some time with dust filters:
Sorry for quality due to i've used my Blackberry 3G on fast
1 is cleaned mesh and 2 is dusty one. Hardware inside my case wasnt cleaned for 4 months beacuse there is no need for it. Work with those stockings and you shouldnt have that much dust problem.
