Does anyone have a ducky shine zero, or just a ducky zero? what are they like? I hear Ducky is generally pretty good.
And this will be my first mechanical keyboard, what switches would you recommend? I was thinking browns - I like the idea of having tactile feedback (I think a linear switch would be a very easy to make mistakes with typing and even through reds are the most popular, i would have thought in games it would be easy to miss hit keys?), but I don't want the noise of blues.
I would go to a shop and try some out, but there are none where I live.
Here is a link to the online shop I'll be buying from.
I am a big fan of the browns, though it really is personal preference.
I'm in Australia too and I luckily had a couple of friends with different style mechanical keyboards for me to try out. We have no good PC shops unless you're around the Sydney/Melbourne area. Even they aren't anything great either.
I have the ducky shine with blues and its freaking amazing. The backlight can be seen even with full lighting in your room, it feels great and the quality is superb. Just buy it
My only gripe..... is it's noisy! Haha... It'll probably quieten down once it's worn in a bit, if not, I saw this o'ring mod for mechanical keyboards, might buy some and try it.
You have any questions about it? I got the exact same one. It came yesterday.
Typing on a mechanical keyboard is a bit strange, definately nicer than membrane because of the extra travel I think, and I find myself "skipping" letters less often, but I do notice slight differences between individual keys because of the nature of the switch I spose.
I have a Ducky Zero with mx browns. It is an amazing keyboard. Easy to type and game with, all while being fairly loud. It has some decent weight to it as well. I would opt for the shine one though.
