Dual Xeon Workstation for rendering/3D

I recently watched the Dual Xeon Workstation build on the TekSyndicate Youtube Channel and am interested in building something similar to that, mainly for 3D modelling and rendering.
My budget is around $3500, SGD.

Here is my list so far.

What programs are you using? some of them want fast per core performance over just a ton of cores, and do you really need CUDA? because the Fire pro card at that same price gives you 8gbs of VRAM, isn't VRAM important for 3D modeling for textures?

Otherwise 4TB HGST drives would be the way to go over that one

and are you sure you need ECC for a non server build?

That's one hell of a build, What software are you going to be using for rendering & 3D modeling? Some software takes advantage of GPU rendering over others

Mainly, I am using Autodesk Maya and 3Ds Max. Sometimes, I will use Zbrush for texturing and Nuke for compositing. But I am mainly doing 3D environment works.

Then you pretty much have what you need. iRay & Vray with a Quadro is fabulous

Yes, I do need the CUDA as this build will be my first and am planning to make it last for a long time so future venturing into other programs like Octane, Iray, etc. I see is possible. However, thanks for your suggestion. :)

Awesome, good to know. Really can't wait to get the parts and start building. Thanks! :)

3D modeling is mainly about GFX card horsepower not the CPU. Lots of memory and GFX card horsepower.
