I finely got around to getting a second monitor but i have a strange problem.
When running both monitors at 120hz everything gets laggy and choppy, moving windows around on the desktop feels like im looking at a slideshow.
There is two things i can do to fix it, running the monitors at 120hz on one and 100/144hz on the other or turning off transparency off in aero or disable aero all together.
Is it really impossible to run the screens at the same refresh rates in Windows 7 with aero enabled?
depending on what kind of card and ports you are using on your gpu/s. To have both monitors work at 144Hz would require a little bit of driver/bios "hacking" or proper ports.
You should use 1x DVI-D for 144Hz and then DP v1.2 (all displays can be connected at the same time to DP though at max refresh rate - but card have to be DP++ ) Technologies like Eyefinity made it easier to deal with windows part.
Analog technology was much better here, as there was no limit by nature. (VGA times got small salty tear in my eyes right now)
I mean i can turn off Aero and everything is fine, i also have no problems with games.
But you are more than likely right, i have done some more research into my problem and it seems to be either a problem with 500 series and up nvidia cards and/or Windows 7 Aero.
Sadly there are no fixes i can find other than to disable Aero. :(
Btw reason i don't just do that is because i need a very dark desktop so my eyes don't get irritated, i suffer a lot from migraines.
