I an using a 1920x1080 monitor as my main diplay and a 1024x768 as a secondary display. The primary monitor image in windows and directx only fits the screen at 1680x1050. How can I fix my problem.

Are they set to duplicate/mirror? If they're extended then there shouldn't be any reason why you can't just select the native resolution for each display. I run a 1920x1080 primary with an extended 1366x768 on Windows 8 (and previously with Windows 7) with no problems.
No they are set as extended diplays.
might be a bad display, or you can try monkeying with the settings
It isnt a bad diplay because i just built a pc for a friend and his got 1080p no problem (w/o a second monitor). I guess i will fool around in settings more.
Sounds like a driver issue.
what kind of cable are you using? if it's hdmi, it could be a low-quality cable....
LOL, I thought all those " high-quality!" and "gold plated!" were just marketing BS? Sarcasm?
It is...
your hdmi cable works or doesnt work. It needs ALL the info to produce an image.
Only on long distances interference might be a slight nuisance.
Nah he needs a DVI cable none of this hdmi bs Or display port
I agree with this guy. Some of new 1080p monitors have issues until you load a monitor driver. Just force it over the generic one. Restart. Try it again.
LOL, yes
