Dual display mirror from 1 GPU performance

I am curious if there are any performance drawbacks to running a dual monitor (mirrored). Let me explain.
My dilemma is that I am running a dual PC setup and getting the video from the gaming PC to the capture PC via NDI is causing unexpected latency jumps. Some are mere milliseconds and some are almost a full second. But it’s not constant. My theory is to get a capture card for the second PC and mirror the gaming PC output via HDMI and Display port. The reasoning behind all this is my main gaming PC monitor is a Sceptre 2560 x 1080 200hz and the pass through on standard capture cards is Max 1080p60. I desperately do not want to spend an additional $100+ on a 4k card. Anybody else have this come across their plate or know of someone who has tried this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
