Dual-booting Win 8.1 and 7

HI .

I have a Z87 UFEI GIGABYTE motherboard and a 1TB MBR HDD running Win 7

I wanted to try Win 8.1 , so I downloaded the 90-day trial and burned it on a USB pen drive using Rufus

I already created a new 50GB NTFS partition , but  when I launch the installer and choose the partition that I created it says :

Windows cannot be installed to this disk. the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI system, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks

I have tried both (GPT for UEFI and MBR for UEFI from Rufus) and it gave me the same resault .

And after searching the web all I found was a way to convert MBR to GPT but it will delete everything :(

#UPDATE :

I got it working by selecting ( MBR for Bios or UEFI computers ) and burned it to the USB pen drive

Sound IT'S SLIGHTLY LESS TERRIBLE :)

Try this instead:

Delete that partition that you wanted to use with windows 8, extend your old partition and get that added back, now install Virtual Box and install windows 8, 8.1 on that baby.  Make sure within your bios you configured your chip to work with Virtual Machines.  You didn't include what cpu you use but I think both AMD and Intel have the option if it is not already enabled.
