Driver affecting performance?

Hello all. I have a 280x and i am currently using the 14.1 beta drivers and playing games i am getting FPS drops below 60 FPS when i should be able to constantly stay above 60 FPS. Recent occurrences is in battlefield 3, bad company 2, and loadout i will drop below 60 FPS and i would believe i should be able to easily max out these games and get well above 60. I am playing on a 1080p monitor and as stated using the 14.1 beta drivers, could those drivers be the issue and should i go back to 13.12? I have asked a few other sites in the past and all i ever get is "bad console port" which surely cant be true for every game.

 

I may also mention that i am using vsync in all these games if that potentially affects performance

Begin with finding out what settings to give you a steady 60fps. It might not be that much lower than "max" and if so there's no problem. A new driver is expected out around Tuesday by the way.

You can always try the 14.2 beta drivers as well.

I have tried installing them and it makes it where i cant successfully boot into windows which results in me having to clean out drivers to even boot in and then i have to do a system restore to properly even use my PC.

But still achieving max settings on a game like BC2 that is 4 years old on new hardware should be easy as cake. It just dosent make sense
