Drive setup question - advice required

Hi Everyone

I have a quick question for everyone relating to my potential hard disk setup.

I'll start from the beginning, when I first built my machine I wanted sheer storage and I refused to believe that I required an SSD so I opted to put in a WD 3TB Green drive as a main hard disk.

Lesson learned.

To correct the OS speed and obvious bottleneck in high texture games I purchased a 120GB intel 525 series mSATA SSD as my motherboard has a mSATA port.

This was great - the OS was fast, but I never had enough room for my games.

After all this I have recently added a 500GB Western Digital VelociRaptor 10K RPM SATA3 hard disk for game installs which I find to be the perfect mix between speed and space.

I can't help but feel that my setup is somewhat fragmented now, the OS and applications are installed on my SSD leaving 60GB free, all my game installs (steam and origin mostly) are on the VelociRaptor and all my media, installer files, pictures, videos etc are on my 3TB green as bulk storage.

Having everything split across three drives while performing well goes against my OCD.

Would you keep the current setup, OS on SSD, games on VelociRaptor & Media on the WD 3TB

- or -

My most most recent idea; should I install the OS, applications and games on the WD VelociRaptor, keep my media on the 3TB and use the SSD to cache the VelociRaptor?

That way I am using two drives for storage, one fast, one slow, one for apps & games, one for media and the SSD to make the 10k drive even faster..

I know this seems like a very long winded explanation to a 1st world problem but I cannot decide whether to leave it as it is or go through the long process of a format/setup the SSD as cache.

If you are running Windows 8 then storage spaces if an option,http://www.anandtech.com/show/5307/windows-8s-storage-spaces-detailed

Works surprisingly well, I gave it a whirl on my test rig when 8 first came out.

Tell your OCD you are using each drive for its best purpose :)

You dont need an ssd for games or high performance storage for media files.

Thanks lol.

I actually opted for something a little different.

The VelociRaptor 500GB is for my Windows, Apps & Games.

WD 3TB Green is for all my media storage.

I am currently storing a full image of my VelociRaptor updated Windows installation on my 120GB SSD - this means if I ever need to replace the VelociRaptor I can do an instant clone to the new drive or even boot off of the SDD like nothing happened.
