DPI Issue with monitors of different sizes

I purchased this Level1 KM switch with mouse roaming (4-port-km-switch-with-usb-32-gen-1-mouse-roaming-function) to use with two different computers at my desk. The main computer is connected to a 21:9 widescreen monitor (3440 x 1440) in landscape mode.

The other monitor/PC is on the right and is in portrait mode at 9:16 ratio (1080 x 1920). This PC is for work and I need to connect to a VPN while using it. I want to keep my main monitor on normal internet and the side computer on the work VPN.

I thought using the KM switch would be a great solution since the other software based KM solutions (Mouse Without Borders, Sharemouse) rely on the network connection. These don’t work for me due to using the VPN (its locked down and I cant share a LAN while on VPN).

The hardware KM switch does work (quite impressively), however the DPI is very distracting. On the widescreen monitor moving the mouse in the left-to-right direction is very fast and the up-to-down direction is slow. On the portrait monitor it is reversed. I imagine the switch itself is doing some monitor size calibration and making the DPI even across both monitors but I’m not sure.

I’ve tried adjusting the DPI using the keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Ctrl + Alt (hold) + Up Arrow/Down Arrow. This helps a bit but only adjusts the DPI globally. The problem still remains.

Is there a way to make the mouse move evenly on both monitors?
