Downloading Windows 7 Home premium ISO

Hello, I am building a new PC and I plan on using Windows 7 Home Premium, since I have a CDkey for it and I can use it again.

I have downloaded an ISO for the 64bit version and put it on a DVD-R disc. But I have some questions that I need answered so i'm not screwed in the future.

1) Can I use 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium x64 ISO to install Windows on a Intel machine?

2) If not, where do I find a download to a 64bit ISO that works on an Intel machine? Would it have to be x86?

yeah, there's no diff in the OS.

Copy from my forum, hope this helps...

So you have a legit CD key for Windows 7 but no install media.

Trying to get hold of the install media can be tricky, if you go to the torrent sites you may end up with some things you were not expecting.

This site has the links you need for the correct version of Windows 7 that you will need.

Don't forget this is for people with legal CD Keys who just need the install media...

i'm gonna have to do exactly this, gonna wait a week, till finals r done, and I have time to get everything just right....

It will work. x64 is just the 64-bit extension of x86 and the actual proper way to write "x64" is x86_64 which makes it more identifiable as the 64-bit extension. It's also written as x86-64, x64, and AMD64. Those all mean the same thing. If you're wondering about the AMD64 one there, it's because it was AMD who actually developed the 64-bit extension of x86. Intel's 64-bit architecture was completely different from x86 and not an extension of x86. It is known as IA-64 or Itanium. Although most of Intel's 64-bit CPUs are built to the x86_64 architecture, IA-64 is very niche and usually only found in servers. But I think they are starting to phase out the IA-64 architecture completely now since even Windows Server 2012 doesn't support IA-64 anymore.
