Hey guys I am wondering if I could download a game remotely and then transfer the game to my drive?
yes you could setup a separate machine else where and download it there and just transfer the game folder.
or use the steam backup option.
My problem is my parents have really shitty internet and it would be quicker if I could go to a library and just download the game I want and return with it.
yeah. you could take something like a laptop or just install steam to a flash drive and use the machines there
generally
C: program files x86 steam steamapps common xxxxgame name folder
just copy that back in whole from the system to the gaming pc;s same folder
then install the game from steam to same C drive like normal
and steam should "discover existing install files"
Go to steam/steamapps/common copy the game folder. I also like to copy the relevant appmanifest file in steamapps, you can find out which is the right one by opening it in note pad or just google the app id of the game.
