A month or two ago on the Tek it was mentioned in passing that there was a web protocol or standard that could prevent dos attacks from being possible. Could you expand on that more or point me to where I can find information on it?
There is it's called vpn.
I'm not sure if you're talking about CDN's, or Content Delivery Networks. They can provide protection for DoS based attacks. Teksyndicate.com uses cloudflare, which is a popular service.
