did a search and found some old threads on the (finally) upcoming DOOM... friday May 13th...
Like many on here, i'm sure, the doom games have always been a great source of fun and frustration.
Anyways... i'm just realy psyched about it, haven't played it yet, and will wait for my hard copy of it, one of the few games i really do want a hard copy of...just to add to my collection ( i'm 'only' 30 but do have doom on floppy disks...that i got from my dad...who also made me discover fps gaming in the 90's...)
He's a console convert now, i don't mind, but i just don't have any reasons to go console again... i prefer playing games on a pc, doesn't matter, i guess, sort of ironic in a way.
Doom 3 bfg was fun with mods, without it was just too bright and not immersive enough. The normal version delivered a much better atmosphere but wasn't all that wow.. so bfg edition with mods was a good compromise.
Anyways... i 'only' have an r9 270 2gb gpu running on an fx6300...but i'm confident there won't be major issues running the new doom...probably not with high fps on ultra but i'm fine with medium settings too. Not making a jump to a 290, would be a waste of money right now esp on that 6300.
I was wondering if any of you have played it, who's equally psyched and finds the theme song FUCKING AWESOME.
That dark side of phobos remix record was cool, but dang... this shit is similar to a lot of bands i really dig like front line assembly's improvised electronic device record, the body, sulphur, tyrant of death, scorn, just a good game soundtrack theme song version of a lot of fun industrial bands...very atmospheric and apocalyptic. Love it.
That being said... i'm not getting the whole multiplayer arena style gameplay feature that seems way popular... but hey, to each their own.
