Does DOOM look crappier in the latest gameplay videos than during the E3 presentation last year. From the way the game was being played, and observing aiming, the E3 gameplay looked like PC gameplay. So that would immediately explain it. But even then, i look at the latest footage now, on PS4, and it looks different. I mean, VERY different. If this is yet another case of toning down the PC version for the piece of SHIT consoles. I'm going to go postal. Changing video options in a PC game is PART OF PC GAMING. Ultra should look like you would THINK Ultra looks like (I'm not proud of that sentence).
Anyone else notice this? Any thoughts on DOOM in general, relating to the visual department?
Is there ANY new PC footage?

Okay first, take your PC master race hat off for a moment. Please look at it from a business perspective. Bethesda owns id, and as such have a higher priority to adhere to publisher demands. Consoles pull in more sales over PC every single release. More people rather invest 400, or choose one or the other, than invest in a 600-1000 dollar PC. So quit being so judgemental. It drags down the community as a whole.
I think it is great the console versions of the game, get to have video options as well. This does mean, id was thinking of optimizations for all machines. I imagine it is just easier to set-up a ps4, do a broadcast and then quickly edit a video and get it out there. Versus set-up on an Xbox, or PC.
To me it looks like Doom. It has Demons, corridors, arena/open areas secret rooms, similar to old Doom. Lots of gore, weapons and a plethora of ways to customize your character. Only thing I dislike is probably the upgrade menu, which is made easier for a console version, for analogue sticks.
Funny thing about id games, you can clearly see what a game designer was going for in every room, every interface, and even the hud. Those guys really do give a damn, there is a clear passion. So just wait and chill dude.
I've already said elsewhere here but the doom beta was shit. I mean SHIT. In every sense of the word. Movement was garbage, you shoot nerf guns, only 3 are viable, no marine v. monsters in multiplayer but being a demon is just a shit gimmick. Its call if dooder shooty demon edition.

I am optimistic about single player to the point I had some PC case stickers made for my new build

so this made me a little excited, not a big fan of the beta but this....
Thanks for this @DeusQain
In the end its all computer science.

Take my PC master race hat off? Ok. I know it's hard to tell when people are sarcastic and such when communicating via typed words. But this is another case of either: A - Hypersensitivity? ,B - Bipolar disorder, C - Misunderstanding, perhaps? I'm confused as hell.
Seriously, though. Um... You've gone on to mention console sales being higher. Well, at the end of the day, it doesn't mean shit. Are id Software and Bethesda Softworks morons for making ported versions of PREDOMINANTLY PC; DEFINITIVELY PC GAMES? No. Not at all. Because there's a sea of low-iq simpletons/mongoloids who don't know any better/don't care that will purchase said ported versions of PC games. It's an obvious way for them to make more money. It's a moot point, and it's a point i'm sure every one of us will know.
I'm just very perplexed when i come across an answer like this. Especially when someone's apparently being "judgemental" then the accuser in question doesn't point out the CLEARLY judgemental statement in my post. What?
The first two paragraphs of your response could have completely been omitted. All i'm saying. And i sure as shit am not about to start another game of ping-pong on a forum, again. I don't post on IGN anymore. I'd like to keep it that way. You could have just responded with your second and third paragraphs actually talking about what you thought, man.
@FaunCB I wouldn't know. But i'll believe you when you say playable demon = gimmick. Especially if you can only use the weapons they use in singleplayer? Melee and such?
@Ghaz013 Yeah... i think a new thread is imminent for DOOM. Something i just wanted to get off my mind and out there so everyone is aware. Some very, very obvious, but perhaps not-so-obvious observations in regards to DOOM's design.
@chiefshane In the end.. it's about.. it's. Oh, fuck. This is tiring... It's about not making me have to point out the obvious.

When I played you had super shotty, rocket launcher, assault rifle, some scoped thing, lightning gun, a pistol, and... something I never used. I don't know if it will have more but I doubt it will or it will be DLC because the devs wanted 8 vacations.
Edit: Oh yeah and the rail gun.
Hmm. Well, i take it you meant playing as a demon is a gimmick because it's basically just a skin, right? I thought so. Oh, well. Marines, or.. whatever the hell the Humans are, vs Marines only wouldn't make too much sense, so i suppose for the sake of the singleplayer game's context, it works.
The over all game is too slow though. You know how when your dogs ass itches it grinds its ass on the floor? You move that fast throughout the whole game.
Are they still going with the whole survival horror thing, like the last big Doom?
I don't think so but for as slow as the game was they might as well be.
You play as a demon, in the beta anyway, as a power up that let you kill pretty much everything tell the timer ends. It was just marines v marines in the beta with armor unlocks like halo (they looked a LOT like halo, not a bad thing just... meh to me)
i think game looks too cartoon 'ish for doom franchise. The cyberdemon looks like something out of mmo or something, the normal peon enemies are kinda small in perspective to player ~ and from what we hear no mod support? well...
Idk about the whole cartoonish deal but for the mod support...... Its like I was saying about the new battlefield, mods showed you care about the longevity of your game. Publishers don't care about that anymore, or ever really did in the first place but allowed it.
Why let mods happen when they can sell DLC? Why let mods happen when they want a new game in the franchise every year or two? I miss mod support, I miss easy to use map makers.... I miss it all :(
I haven't had a chance to respond until now. Your post was mirroring that of others on the forum who really rub me the wrong way with the PC Master Race only a Privacy is king (prevent all ip leaks) mentality. 'It is shit' is just so dismissive and gets under my skin. That's where my outburst has come from.
Since we've now seen the GTX1080 in action as a show piece for Doom, would you then say id does have a focus on PC and the graphical fidelity options available are amazing for PC?
You can get to Nightmare graphics to make it look better. They are just not enabled by default, have to set launch options to enable them
There is also a post over at /r/pcgaming that talked a bit about some other switches that can help better the 'feel' of doom.
