Just about a week after people started receiving their Google Nexus 7 tablets, the search company has already stopped taking orders for their 16GB model due to lack of supply. Google announced their new competitor into the tablet market during their IO conference a few weeks ago. The Nexus 7 is about the same size of Amazon's Kindle Fire, but it contains the Nvidia Tegra III processor/gpu combo, which causes the tablet to operate very smoothly and allows it to play many of the graphically intensive games for Android. While Google may have released this tablet for several reasons, such as competing with the Kindel Fire or just showing the market what a stock Android tablet can do, this device is selling far better than Google had anticipated. Though it may not have iPad-like sales yet, if sales keep up at the current rate, it will reach one million in less time than the original iPad, and I believe that this device marks a turning point from Apple's dominance over the tablet market.
Have any of you been able to compare the Nexus 7 with any other tablets? All I can say is that it loads this website much faster than my phone does. If you've got one and need help unboxing it, remember Tek Syndicate's got you covered on that.
