Does this Look like a good 500$ usd Build

I have put together a parts list that I think looks good but I want your opionions on it. Thanks in advance: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/rstaehly/saved/29lZ

To make things easier around here just include some extra info so we can tailor you better.

  • Budget. How much are you willing to spend? Anything Under 550 Usd
  • Where do you live (what country),  and what currency do you use? USA USD
  •   -Is there a retailer you prefer? Newegg
  • Do you need or already have peripherals? already have
  • What will you be using your future computer for? Gaming? Rendering? Mix of both? Mix Of both
  • Do you overclock or want to get into overclocking? In the neer future I will
  • Do you plan on going for custom watercooling now, or in the future? Not on this build
  • OS. Do you need a new one? Would Like But I Dint Need One
  • Do you plan on Mining BTC either for yourself or Tek Syndicate? Sorry No

If you Game-

  • What kind of settings do you like or what FPS do you want to play at? 30 through 70
  • What resolution will you be playing at? //or would like to play at. 1080p
  • What kind of games do you like to play? Minecraft, Beamng Drive, Ksp, L.O.L

If you Render or Edit things-

  • What application do you use to render? Wax
  • Do you render movies or photshop pictures? On occasoin

It looks good, but I spent quite a bit of time squeezing out every bit of value I could. It's only $5 more, but I think I would be saving a bit more since I got free shipping on everything:

The highlights:

  • I squeezed in a 2GB 7850
  • Only 2 sellers. Less buying hassle (skip in the ODD, and save $17 with only 1 seller!)
  • FREE SHIPPING on everything.
  • Better PSU (single 12v rail, more efficient)
  • Mobo should facilitate better OCing due to VRM cooling. In theory. Solid Mobo
  • DOWNSIDE - skipped on cooling fan. Airflow may suffer, but imo, I think a 120mm intake should be sufficient; CPU cooling fan can help direct airflow.

Also, some advice for lowering the initial cost: don't buy the CPU cooler now, especially if you don't plan on OCing right away. Stock cooling is adequate. Same with the ODD. CD's are obsolete now, so if you don't have immediate plans for it, buy it later down the road. That's ~$35 off from the initial cost.

Thanks

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Freaksamcker/saved/29yH this would leave you a upgrade path to a 8 core ,better gpu like a 7870, 7950, and 7970 throw in a ssd at a later date. Assuming your not going to try and overclock it.

You know you could spend just 70 more and get a 7950.

hey I is was trying to keep it close. lol But as he pointed out it would be well worth the extra cash to pop for the 7950 from the start. With your build the board is a bottle neck and , you need a 990fx 990x or 970 chipset.Use the dual channel rams speeds by splitting the 8g ram stick in to two 4 gigs. Cooler master is a very low grade psu.

I have alot of similar parts (Which for some reason youput together alot cheaper than my build)  and I love it!  Max quality on alot of demanding games.

It's not my place to get frustrated, but seriously people, do you read the post? The budget is <$550. How is he going to cram a 7950, FX-8350, and 970 board, dual-channel memory, SSD, and a high-performance cooler? Also bear in mind that this isn't *strictly* a gaming build. The build is going to used for rendering (which I'd imagine are CPU and memory intensive). The other builds I see are good gaming builds, but not really well balanced for rendering. SSD is still a luxary, 7950 is not appropriate for the build purpose and budget, and as AFAIK, there isn't anything really wrong with the mobo, as the motherboard has very little to do with performance. I think a RAM upgrade down the road is a given, since you can never have too much for rendering. If it isn't, then the OP should opt for a dual-channel 8GB RAM kit instead of a single 8GB stick.

Just thought I'd throw out those... observations. Again, I don't mean to be frustrated, but feel free to let me know if I'm out of line.

mmm a 541 dollar build  with upgrade paths didnt make it .Your just being butthurt to be butthurt.

under budget, 7870, good psu, 6 core, rest are just basics.

I would get the his 7870 for $10 more deejeta my friend got 3 doa sapphire 7870s, they all from newegg, I would stay away from their 7870s, and the his is a better binned card for overclocking in my opinion

use the Ta970 biostar with 64 gigs of ram support. It with completely smoke that asus board and is only roughly ten dollars more. And it will not bottleneck the graphics cards like the asus.
