So I used to be into cryptocurrency mining a lot.
I've now got a bunch of 280x's left over and decided to put them into my main rig.
Ive got 2 powercolor 280x's running with an amd fx-6300, and 16gb of RAM.
I think I've got a bottleneck because Im not seeing a big fps improvements in games.
Any tips, thanks
Youre not seeing performance increases compared to what hardware running what game at what resolution and settings? Crossfire doesnt scale well with some games of course and if you want 120 fps at 1080p the CPU might not be optimal for it. If you play at 60 fps 1080p you should be able to get a solid 60 with high settings on pretty much any game except some badly coded ones or CPU intesive RTS games. Anyways, you should try monitoring your CPU and GPU usage during gaming to find out if there is a serious bottleneck.
well at 1080p, the scaling just sucks.
But If you wanne know if you get bottlenecked or not, just use Msi afterburner, and monitor the GPU load during gaming. eventualy post a screenshot in here. If its bouncing up and down allot, then you get bottlenecked.
