There are some shorter display port to DVI converters that have a box on them. (I assume for converting the signal) They’re closer to the length I need but cost twice the price of the longer cheaper six foot option. Does the cable matter if I’m plugging it into a KVM?
I don’t think I ever had to turn DVI back into Displayport.
Unless the space is really cramped, I would go with the cheaper option.
That’s my thinking too. Just some of the cable off brands can get sketchy.
Be mindful that no adapter supports dual link dvi and will only pass through a single link
