Basically what it says in the title 
I’m looking for a device that will slot into one or more (up to 3) 5.25" bays in the front of a standard computer case that will let me display some status information about the system. Ideally it connects with an internal usb header to the motherboard.
It has to either already have an open source driver or come with sufficient documentation for me to write one.
I’ve been looking around and I’ve found some fan controllers with LCDs on them but I don’t think I’ll be able to really program them from the OS.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
