Does anyone eat particular foods to lose weight, be healthy, relieve stress, gain mass, etc?
This is my diet for studying and training during semester:
Breakfast:
Oats (wholegrain)
Sugar (raw)
Bran (unprocessed)
Milk (full cream)
Vegetable juice (most disgusting thing I've ever drank, but yolo)
Water
Morning Meal:
Chicken (shaved)
Cheese (cheddar)
Lettuce (green oak)
Bread (multigrain)
Water
Afternoon Meal:
Apple or banana
Carrot or celery
Chocolate cookies (I eat these every so often otherwise my body rejects everything else after a few weeks. It keeps my appetite for confectionery contained without ruining the rest of my diet)
Water
Lunch and Dinner:
Pasta or rice (wholemeal penne or brown basmati respectively)
Minced beef (I use minced meat for convenience, but I recommend diced) or lamb strips
A slice of swiss/provolone/whatever. NEVER American
Metric shit-ton of leaves
Two teaspoons of ranch mixed with a drop of ghost pepper sauce if the sandwich is too dry
The meal that's around 6PM:
Varies day by day. I try to not repeat the same meal too often so my family doesn't get bored. Tonight was chicken soup with diced onion, green bell peppers, potatoes, and carrots. Also had some biscuits to make things interesting and so there was enough food for five people. A few nights ago was red wine-lemon-garlic chicken with salad.
Throughout the day:
Water, lots of it
A cup of greek yogurt, usually around 3 PM-ish
Some oatmeal, usually every other day later in the evening.
Cooking is one of the few things I will actually admit that I'm decent at. Except for Southeast Asian food, I can't make that stuff for the life of me.
This upcoming night is going to be pretty boring though, the only things that are ready to be used are some pork, a red onion, another green bell pepper, red potatoes, and miscellaneous other kitchen supplies. Maybe I'll see if I still have the ingredients for my barbecue sauce and I'll just slow cook the pork and make pulled pork sandwiches with roasted potatoes or something.
Mostly for weight loss (or at least maintain). Don't like veggies so i use a juicer to get some vitamins. I used to take pre and post workout supplements but honestly they did not do anymore for me than a cup of coffee would not do. Lost 90 pounds in a year, need to loose another 50 then i'm good. It's probably not the best but it is the only thing I have tried that I can stick with.
Breakfast:
most of the time nothing, maby a fiber 1 bar
Lunch
2 sandwiches on 65 calorie per slice bread and turkey with a handful of baked layes
leftovers from the night before
salad light dressing
Mid afternoon
juice (3 apples 4 carrots 4 stalks of celery 1 cucumber)
Glad I am not the only one. My diet consists of caffiene, nicotine, and anything I can cram into the microwave. I can cook when I have to. I eat a lot of steak. I guess that is the staple of my diet.
I don't stick to a strict diet. I just don't eat shit. Simple as that for me. I try to cut out sugar entirely, and try to eat a lot of vegetables. A lot of people seriously have no idea how much sugar they consume in a day :-\
I try to keep my diet. It consists of mostly vegetables and and avoiding any unessential fats like in frying. I'm also testing on cutting down on any animal based foods. During last month I ate at most 200 grams of meet in total. I usually use vegan recipes and remove unnecessary ingredients like olive oil and eggs or dairy products. But at times I give in to urge to eat something sweet.
