Does anybody use Solaris as and operating system?
i had pleasure to use it for short while but on 86 arch. Do you need help with anything? (not that I will be able to help with a lot still I just might.)
Used to , first desktop was a SPARCstation.
Just wondering because all I hear is about Linux and Windows on this site.
Solaris on desktop kinda died with Sun Microsystems. But it is still heavily used in the server and database arena.
I've never used it. I imagine the few who have have been in work environments or picked up old hardware.
As for windows and Linux. BSDs are free OSs that have a lot of use as well. I imagine there are a few here who run them, In fact anyone who's running pfsense or freenas are running BSD. Wendell did a video on pfsense as well.
