good question i want to go back to intel i am on a amd am3+ 990fx mobo from asus also i liked my evga board which is why i want to go back with evga
i was wanting to do a evga 1080 build but every time i used pcpartpicker to find the parts every one was saying due to the fact im useing a amd build i will bottleneck the video card so what should i do?
He linked an X99 board, the new Intel release this year is the mainstream platform aka small socket, so there will not be a new Intel CPU on the enthusiast socket range and will not be until mid to late 2017.
An 8350 will definitely bottleneck a 1080 at 1080p and 1440p. If do more than just game, like content creation or 3d work, then an X99 build is a good fit. If your just gaming, a 6600k or 6700k would be a lovely pairing.
i do video editing, streaming and play video games
Than an I7 6700k or 6800k is probably a good fit. Editing doesn't scale especially well as it sits beyond 8 threads in the adobe suite, but its only going to get better and the 6800k's extra 2 cores will help streaming go that bit more smoothly. There will not be a new processor on the enthusiast side of things, X99, until mid to late next year, so you can buy now and be happy with that. If you choose 6700k, the follow up is due out within a couple months. Its going to be an extremely minor upgrade, but hey if you want the best and greatest that mainstream can offer then hey its like a 1 to 2 months wait for that.
so is the board i posted a good one?
well the build up to around 1600ish
Yes, the Evga X99 boards have been very well received in general.
I'm selling a 6600k for a really good price.
