Do you think The Asus x99 E WS motherboard is the best?

Hello, I asked a question looking for the best X99 motherboard with TPM yesterday. I was recommended Asus I really can't pick any faults with it. I was just wondering what other people thought about this board? have I missed anything important or do I have the perfect board?

The motherboard is the Asus x99 E WS

I would appreciate anyones opinions

Thanks

Well that board is offcourse great.

But there are more boards who have a tpm header. (at least thats what the specs on theire website tell me!)

  1. Asus X99 Deluxe
  2. Asus rampage 5
  3. Asrock X99 Extreme 6
  4. Asrock X99 WS
  5. Asrock X99 Extreme 4

So yeah basicly enough to choose from.

But yeah the Asus X99-E WS is probably one of most feuture rich boards arround.

I would definitely look at the Asus X99 Deluxe aswell, because it will probably be cheaper, then the WS and the Rampage..

p.s

please next time keep all your questions related to the same subject in one thread. cause otherwise its getting a bit confusing for everyone.

Does anyone have a release date for the Asus x99 E WS? Im in the field to upgrade to the x99 platform soon and as nice as the Deluxe is I would love to get my hands on that WS board.

when i read tpm and asus, i think of their csm or corporate stability models. just saying.

First off I would like to apologize for creating a second thread. I must have been in a rush and didn't think.

I really wanted the workstation motherboard but it wasn't proving easy to get ahold off (i'm really impatient) so I decided to go for the x99 deluxe. It's not the best board but it still supports TPM, fast ram and 64GB which will be more than enough for Hyper V.

Thank you everyone for the tips and hopefully this board will last me a few years.

Asus X99 Deluxe is a sollid board. it will serve you very well.

Need to get rid of your old one?

ASUS X99 is the best consumer board currently through public perception. Reason for this is the efficient use of the PCI-E lanes.

If in doubt, look at cheaper x99 boards, and notice the pci- e lanes, at which frequency/speed/whatever they run at when fully populated.

The X99 WS is a really good board, I like the looks better than the other Asus X99's however the price is much more. I think the main feature is the PLX chip multiplexing the pci express lanes. I honestly never know if multiplexing pci-e lanes is a good idea but as far as I can tell a lot of high end boards do it. I suspect as long as there is minimal latency added unless every multiplexed lane is trying to send/receive data at the same time it will allow more devices to burst speed when active.

I know the trashcan mac uses a PLX chip to support all of those thunderbolt ports lol.

I would like to see a review of the x99 WS compared to other boards in overclocking. If it is about the same i would go for that, but the Haswell-E platform begs to be OC'ed so if it is worse it is a deal breaker for me I think.
