I haven't read the biography about Steve Jobs so I don't know all the details about his life and I do think he was a really brilliant man but I don't consider him to be as amazing as everyone claims. Steve Jobs didn't write any code or did he help with any of the architecture of the hardware in the products which revolutionised the tech industry such as the iPhone and the iPads, he only told people what he wanted and knew what would sell. Do you think that the jOBS movie adds to his over hyped reputation when it should be focused more around the people who made the products possible or do you think that his life journey is worthy of movie? I don’t really know to be honest, I just feel that Steve Jobs was a better marketer whilst knowing what he wanted over being ‘technologically brilliant’ which I have heard some people say about him. Love to know what you think.
Yes and no. As a computer genious(which is what the meida and apple cultists toute him as) he is nothing but over rated, he did not make one of the thing apple sold. As a designer he is under rated, people say how jobs was a computer man when he wasn't and tend more to push his designing skills to the back and not acknowldge them as much.
He was always more of an idea man than anything else as far as I know. He knew how to market things effectively to make people want what they might not have needed. As far as inventions go, I don't think he actually physically created anything. That was always up to his team or other companies that they took ideas from. Part of me wants to say he was a nothing more than a salesman (the best one to ever live), but the other half says that he was great because he was the reason personal computers became a popular thing.
He was a great head of company in terms of marketing, he knew exactly how to make people want it and what image he wanted to portray, but i really don't think he put much into the designing and engineering of the products themselves.
