Do I need Intel Rapid Storage installed?

Here are my complete specs -

  • Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compund
  • 2x4GB G.SKILL CL9 @ 1866MHz
  • ASRock Z87E-ITX
  • Bitfenix Prodigy White
  • NZXT HALE82 V2 550W
  • EVGA GTX 760 w/ACX Cooler
  • Seagate Barracuda 1TB
  • Windows Home Premium 64 bit, for now.

Do I even need this installed? Isn't it only for RAID and SSD caching?

It won't make a difference with the current system, but if you get an SSD later then it's a good idea to install the driver part of "Intel Rapid Storage" because that gives you the most efficient driver for the SATA interface. You can choose not to install the control panel that comes with it, if the driver itself is all you want.
