Hey guys! Kopacetic here.
Anyway, I currently make electronic music using FL Studio on my laptop for a couple years now. After high-school, I decided to start building a PC so hopefully it could have better performance than my current laptop, so I don't have any buffering or underruns whenever i make music.
I have been scrolling around the Internet, and a lot of people recommend me getting an audio interface. I don't know what exactly an audio interface does, but they said it can make my overall sound quality better, as well as the performance of FL Studio (or audio processing).
My question is that do I really need an audio interface. For my upcoming build, it will have a Intel i5-4690K and an Asus Z97 AR motherboard. I have recently watched a Tek Syndicate video about how soundcard is basically BS. They suggested to have an external soundcard so that the signal doesn't go all over the PC, or something along the lines of that.
TL;DR Do I need an external audio interface to get better performance and sound quality when making music via FL Studio (or any other DAW)?
Side Question: If I do need an audio interface, what do you guys recommend? I don't use studio monitors, but have a pair of ATH-M50, and a Sony Stereo Speaker that uses a headphone jack. I'm a headphone guy.
Thanks for the help!
