this was the first of Blomkamp's videos I have ever seen.
Then when I went to see X-Men: orgins I saw the District 9 trailer. I was like whoa! Neill Blomkamp. 
Really does look interesting seems like something I could sit 3 hours for (lol Peter Jackson).
The movie has just been out for some couple of days now. It wasn't as hyped as Transformers 2 and only had a budget of 30 million (Transformers 2 had 200 million) but from what I heard, its sounds like one of the best movies of 2009 just popped out of nowhere.
I normally watch spill for movie reviews because their reviews are "straight from the heart":

Its kinda slow starting out, but as it goes on it turns out to be well worth waiting.
It not that its slow starting out, most people's attention span cannot handle the style of the movie in the first part. This movie is very original I loved every bit of it. I'm wondering if the director played a bit of Butcher Bay and got the idea for the alien weapons, it fitted very well with the story.

soved the part were they got the alien weapons... great special effects, begining could have been a tad bit shorter though i would give an 8.8/10
