Looking to see if anyone has used a Displayport Hotplug Maintainer or has any advice on one.
I see that a company makes one that passes through the signal and based on the specs appears it would work with the L1techs KVM.
Anyone use this or anything else? I sometimes have issues with re-syncing when switching inputs, or really when the sole display is unplugged, the device (laptop) goes to sleep. I hope that if the laptop sees a display as always connected that it will not go to sleep and switching back and forth will be quicker and less prone to sync issues.
If no one has any input, I will probably just buy some and come back and post results.
Using MacOS and Linux. I saw that but it states it is DisplayPort 1.2 only, and I have the Samsung G9 monitor which needs 1.4 with DSC to manage 5120x1440 @240hz
Bought them and tried them. They appear to work sometimes, but again there is the issue of having a good enough signal.
Normally I would switch away from a laptop and in a few seconds it would go to sleep. This would keep it awake. On my desktop however it seemed that sometimes I would switch to it and no picture would be displayed. I think non super high resolution or high refresh monitors these would work great.
Or this is all just a problem with the Samsung G9 and being finicky to get working.
I’m returning them, hopefully that process isn’t a hassle.
