Hello!
I recently shipped a system to a friend. Everything was fine until I heard he was getting low FPS on games. Turns out he plugged his hdmi cord to the motherboard, enabling onboard graphics. He switched the cord and now the dedicated GPU doesn't work or turn on. We went through BIOS, reseated the GPU, uninstalled drivers, and nothing worked. I really need help with this one as the system is stuck to where he is because he can't afford shipping costs. What to do? Motherboard is H81-e34
what gpu?
sounds odd, does the gpu power up, fans on?
may want your friend to check device manager to see if the gpu is detected
GTX 960 PNY. It doesn't turn on at all, neither does the fan. Only his onboard works.
Was the gpu inatalled for shipping?
Might want to try another pcie slot of the mobo has one.
It was installed. There is no other PCIE.
This problem was similar with my problem on a 660. It couldn't turn on. Only Onboard graphics worked. What I did to resolve the issue was to switch to PEG or AUTO on an HP Pavilion. That solution worked. The problem now with the 960 is awkward.
