Disk Cloning with dd

Update:

We tested the HDD, which I used dd on. It booted right up! My boss was really happy, so thanks @SolitaryOwlet, @Dje4321, @FaunCB, and everyone else who contributed!

That dd utility is awesome! LINUX IS AWESOME :)

youre welcome. did the hdd need to be expanded? if the first drive was smaller than the second then there is empty space left on the drive

They were both 40gb in size.

What do you mean by if the first drive is smaller than the second there is empty space? How would that effect the drive?

there would just be empty space. If the source drive was 30gb and the destination drive was 40gb then 10gb of space on the destination drive would be unused.
