Dishonored 2

Well I got dishonored 2 and it is not ready. Tons of glitches. It truly is a Bethesda game. I hope it's just me and y'all are gaming just fine but I doubt it. I would wait a couple of weeks to pick this one up guys. Anyone else in the same boat?

Unfortunately I am too. I should have seen all the red flags but being such a big fan of the first one made make the dumb choice getting a Bethesda game at launch

I really wanted to pick it up but heard about all the problems. Apparently there are fixes and probably a patch soon, not that that's a good excuse.

I haven't had any luck with any of the fixes.
Also my framerate almost seems entirely independent on what I have the settings on. I'm getting about 20 fps in open areas.

Hopefully there's a driver or patch or something that will sort it out soon

Even a 1080 can't keep it above 60 FPS maxed all the time even at 1080p. Especialy since, form what I've seen, it doesn't even look that good.

On more mid range hardware it is all over the place with constant dives down to 30ish or less.

Complete mess but essentially what I've come to expect from AAA games and Bethesda

Damn I can't quote...
Anyways, do you know that's the doom engine? I mean it's not something they haven't touched before. And they still fucked it up.
Warning sign was when they canceled early review copies.
It's just a lazy port. That's all there is to it. People will still buy it and Bethesda will not even care...

It isn't the Doom engine. DH2 doesn't use Id Tech 6. It uses the "Void Engine" which, while based on Id Tech 6 has had over 70% of it rewritten so it is essentially quite different.

Oh, so it's reworked ID tech engine? I see... Guess they shouldn't have reworked it :D

Dishonored 2 is a fantastic game! Stays true to its roots, and improves on almost every aspect of gameplay.

As far as glitches, a lot of people are reporting them, but I have been fine (so far) and can maintain 60 fps with everything set to ultra @ 1440p with my GTX980

Apparently a 9GB patch is being released tomorrow and it will address the issues people have been having.

@DUFFMAN0651 sorry to hear you have been having issues - hope the patch fixes it for you.

I am having the same issues with the frame rate and it's totally independent of what settings I have

Thanks, I'm running it on a gtx980 as well. Hopefully it gets fixed soon. I really enjoyed the first one

my sisters machine has a r9 270....

Oooh, and it has Gimpworks? What are the odds...

Ignoring the technical issues, how's the gameplay and story holding up. Is it a significant improvement or more of the same? I just played the first Dishonored and loved it.

Its a blend of more of the same and improvements. It is definitely not lacking in story compared to teh first game, and there is a LOT of "Lore" to collect.

There's a reason why Bethesda does't give early review copies anymore. Please don't buy anything day1 from them again without a proper review from your trusted sources.

I got the first one when it was GOTY and I didn't regret that decision. I'll wait for Dishonored 2 GOTY as well.

For the most part I've not had any issues with the game. I've seen a few FPS drops in the bigger areas, but nothing that's killing my experience. I've not seen any glitches/broken parts of the game. It's a stunning look game and the world, plot, characters, etc are all awesome. It'll be interesting to see what the patch does for the game.

Well I got it half off and reviews for the game are high. Also a lot of people are playing the game just fine.
