Has anyone taken a chance on the numerous new 1 and 2TB SSDs from china that have started appearing on ebay, $32 2TB drives? Is this the new flash drive knock offs that claim a large compacity but turn out to be 8GB flash modded.
I was 50/50 till you said ebay, yeah i would expect, but dont know, thatbtheh are like you think not 2tb but say they are.
There are a couple sellers from China that sell cacheless SSDs for maybe 15-30% less than you would expect to pay for something similar from Samsung/Micron/etc. Linus did a video on an SSD from ‘Fattydove’ a while back. There are a lot of cheap brands that sell in Asian markets for a lot less than typical retail somewhere like NewEgg.
But, I would just assume anything like what you described to be a scam. Especially on eBay. You won’t even find 2TB of raw NAND flash for $32.
If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

I would say just stick to reputable brands from reputable retailers.
And not some sketchy unknown Chinese brands from ¨somebody¨ on ebay.
Unless you don’t mind taking a gamble with those cheap unknown Chinese brand ssd´s.
But i would personally not trust those.
There are also reputable brands that are a little bit cheaper then top models from A brands.
And those are still performing pretty good enough.
Also this. 
If you need a cheap ssd it’s better to go with a bran that is popular in China like Kingdian. Other Chinese manufacturer sell their disks with similar names och Kingdian in ad, and I’m pretty sure there’s fake Kingdian ssds out ther. That how you know a brand is good. Not $35 for 2TB though.
