I can’t seem to find a definitive answer to if direct storage works with raid (on Windows).
Anyone here have an answer?
I run a big raid 0 for everything out of convenience (yes i have back ups upon backups ) and seeing as more games have started using direct storage i just want to know if it works with my raid or if i should make a drive specifically for my games.
I just installed windows 11 fresh yesterday.
I have 3 data drives. 2 optane, one of which is my windows boot disk. The other will be for the linux stuff. Then a 1tb ntfs data drive. Steam allows me to set a folder on that drive as the installation directory. So on that drive I have
s:/SD/models
s:/SD/comfyui
s:/SD/a1111
s:/games
Unfortunately not all games will allow me to install there. Most stuff requires the C drive. But so far everything I can run on steam I have chosen to do so, because it will allow me to designate the installation location.
btw the rest of that stuff is to generate images with stable diffusion.
