Differences between Cherry MX Brown and Blue

I have decided to buy a mechanical keyboard. I want to have tactile feedback so I thought of browns and blues. What are the pros and cons of these two? I have heard the Blues are a tiny bit heavier than the browns and have the very distinct click to it.

Many people says that blues are very loud, but I personally don't tinnk so, I was actually very surprised over how quite it was. If sound doesn't matter, which would be the best choice for someone who mainly plays games and want to have a nice writing experience too?

You can buy a mechanical switch tester. But what people have told you this far is true. Blues are louder than browns, but that might not suit your personal preference.

I tested everything I could find before I bought mine, and I have to say I really like blues. Browns didn't have enough feedback when typing, also they were too easy to actuate for me. But be aware that blues are REALLY loud. I'm not joking, if you have someone in the same room sleeping or trying to focus just forget it.

For 13-14 euro I was going to buy one, why not? The 22 euro cheapest shipping to Ireland is why...

Are they really that loud? I mean keyboards in general are pretty loud if you ask me, so the blues won't be extremely loud in comparison to that.

It's worth the cost before you spend $$$ on a keyboard, dude.

i like blues because of the audible click and the tactile feel of actuation both of which used together speed up typing and gaming. i have that at home where it wont bother anyone, every key kinda sounds like someone slamming down the space bar on a regular keyboard if that makes sense. i used .2mm rubber spacers on these blue switches to decrease the travel by half to future improve typing and gaming speed.

for work i picked up browns because they make less noise, dont want my co workers hating me.  but i still benefit from the tactile feedback.

Of course that depends on what you are used to. If you are used to rubberdome keyboards I guess you will be surprised how loud they are. It also depends how "aggressive" your typing style is I guess, but if you can just try it out at a store that sells them.

Yeah, getting the keyboard and hating to use it would be less than ideal. I would pay it if the shipping was about half the price probably. It just seems that bit too much in relation to the thing I'm buying.

Though I just dropped the difference on The Witcher 1 and 2 from GOG so I don't know why I'm going on about being money concious haha

I was thinking I'll take a trip down to a computer store or two in town and just ask to play around with some display models if possible. I'm in a similar place as OP right now in that I know I want one and will spend the cash on one but I would like to get more info.

Standard delivery is about 12 euros for me. I don't have the luxury of going to a store to try out different boards, so I kinda need a tester. I'm prepared to pay the 24 euros, then just sell it on to someone in need. I am sure that someone in the UK would have this thing off me, since they are really hard to find.

They aren't in stock on the Cooler Master Europe store until January. If I get bored, I will probably just blow money on some MX Browns with some rings.

Hey, I think I heard something about cooler master being willing to take a return of the tester against the cost of a CM keyboard if you end up buying one. So look into that if you're grabbing one!

EDIT: Yup, just took a look, I think you actually get to keep it too.

"As an added bonus, any purchase of a CM Storm Key Tester instantly provides a € 13,95 discount to your purchase of a CM Storm mechanical keyboard from our store."

Sounds good actually, maybe worth it even with the shipping, I'll do the numbers when pricing elsewhere.

That's really good that you told me that, actually. I was looking at the K70 but the options are somewhat limited until they release the RGB backlight LEDs. So I was looking at the CM Quickfire Ultimate.

I have narrowed down to three keyboards; Ducky Shine 3, Filco Ninja Majestouch and the Corsair K70. I am really not sure wich to buy. The K70 is clearly the cheapest of them all, the Filco Ninja is the cleverest and the Shine 3 is the most customisable(?).

K70=170$, Filco=(150$ + shipping)*1.25, Shine 3=210$

What keyboard do you have, and which on would you have if you could pick between one of these?
