Did these hard drives just die?

Hello all, I am currently having a bit of a problem with some hard drives of mine. I believe they are dead but I would like a second opinion. All of my specs are listed on my account but to save you some time the two in question are my Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB SSD and my Seagate Beracuda 2TB HDD. The other day I was on my computer as normal when steam stoped working and the hard drive I keep steam and all of my games on (Seagate) disconnected itself from my system. It then began making a clicking noise, I checked the power and SATA cables and everything seemed to be connected and where it should be. I looked around online and from what I have read I believe the drive died on me. Now today again I was on my computer as normal when out of the blue my computer restarts and when it turns back on it tells me to connect boot drive (HyperX 3K) and press any button. I attempted to plug in the drive with various Sata cables yet nothing seems to make it work. I even took the external enclosure that came with the SSD and put it in there to see if it would be detected on another computer, but alas it didnt. Do you think there is somthing wrong with my computer or motherbord or somthing that is making this happen, or is this just a case of very bad luck? Any help would be much appreciated.

Try booting your computer up with Ubuntu or any linux distro and see if the harddrive is still not detected.

How old are both of the drives and also what PSU do you have? Your PSU could be starting to break down and unfortunatley (as always) is going to take components with it.

Do the drives come up under the BIOS during the post checks?

Check the HDD to see if any caps on the board look fried.

Everything in my system is still relatvly new. I built it back in December of 2012. My PSU is a seasonic 80+ gold 850W. No unforchantly those two are not showing up, it does however detect my other two hard drives I have. Also nothing look fried to me.
