I am curious about the communities experience with Dev-C++.

I’m taking an advanced C++ class, using Linux and interested in thoughts on how it compares to other IDEs?

I typically use VIM and compile via terminal using makefiles, but have used Sublime Text on occasion. So, that’s my experience with developing. However, this is open to anyone with any background who has used Dev-C++.

Ah cotton doesn't really matter, your doing it the proper way anyway. But if you really want to use an IDE then Qt Creator might be a good one for you as it works very well both on linux and windows. Personally just find Dev-C++ not up to scratch, and just plain annoying but hey each to our own.
