Normally I handle my headphones really carefully but today i stepped on the plug from my expensive Audio Technica ad1000x. The plug was bent. I bent it back but one driver isn't working. I am sure that the plug is the only thing wich broke.
Now I have three possibilities to fix them:
1) Just change the plug: most inexpensive, fastest, but destroys the resale value
2) Change the whole cable: they don't officially offer a replacement cable on their website but I hope that they could send me one if I call them.
3) Send them in for repair: most expensive, takes most time but they keep their resale value.
I have to say that the only headphone I took apart till now was the Beyerdynamic DT 880 to change the curled to a straight cable, wich was very easy on the the service friendly DT880, the Audio-Technica looks kinda complicated
I don't think that i am going to sell them any time soon but still a point to consider
Has anyone of you already taken apart a headphone from the AD line and knows how complicated it is? What do you recommend me to do as someone who is relatively inexperienced with fixing headphones?
