Might be the “fix” for us. If I can get this abomination of a 3900X/B350 setup networked I’ll be testing Fedora 41 Beta with it to see if it does things properly.
I wound up putting the 6700 back in my 5950X system, and making the jump to Fedora 41B, since I failed to sort out a networking solution for the 3900X.
Audio issues didn’t go away, but were about the least bad I’ve had them. Then it started failing to wake from sleep pretty consistently. Then it would refuse to POST; it’d iterate through CPU/RAM/wake LEDs, but it couldn’t wake the 6700. Weird. One occasion it eventually turned CSM on along with a message about the VGA card not having UEFI support. Then it just quit posting, so I threw the 580 back in and it’s been the usual dead reliable I expect from it. So I tried the 6700 again, aaaaaaaand it was reliably crashing with artifacting immediately preceding. Weirdly, when it would artifact out and then crash, it never dropped audio until it dropped the card entirely.
It’s /possible/ that there are bugs in 6.11 and/or F41B, but it’s also possible that some of the instability moments I had on F40 with the 9700X were the 6700 and not the quite heavily overtuned CO/CS settings I was toying with.
I think my overall conclusion is Burn Navi.
Just as a diagnostic, try driving that TV 1080p @ 30 Hz and see if anything about the audio improves.
