Desk top, not desktop

Seeing the new Corsair 380T got me thinking.

What are the best desk top cases, ie cases you can comfortably keep on your desk. Reach the power button and plug in some front panel usbs. Maybe even transport.

Probably Micro ATX to Mini ITX

For my self, something that can hold a system that would drive a 1440P screen for gaming and general.

If I were doing it in that size.... BitFenix Prodigy.

The fractal design core 3000 is nice, cheap and small;  capable of holding an mitx or matx motherboard.

One of those horizontal HTPC cases could work if you stack the monitor on top of it.

This

I wouldn't recommend that case. it is incredibly tiny, incredibly expensive and has incredibly poor airflow. I believe the Tek Syndicate crew took that system out of that case because they were having overheating problems.

It is a cool case but really tiny and not worth the money IMO.

I think you're definitely looking for this

I have my Fractal Design R2 XL on my desk :c

but yeah my vote is on the BitFenix Prodigy M

Mmm - just thought of the Asrock M8 too..... I'd love to have that on my desk lol

Thanks for the ideas. There is the Aerocool Dead Silence as well.

However my pet hate is soft touch. I find it almost as creepy as the robots in THE TEK 0124.

JohnMatt, yep I do like the M8 too.

Striezel: lol I have an non-xl R2 at the moment.

Do the M8 - I travel a lot for work, I'm thinking about buying a hardshell luggage, bolting the m8 to the bottom and a monitor via its vesa mount to the lid - open her up and it's a desktop on the go!!  If you do end up going m8 let me know how you like it, I'm on the fence on this project...

Had a look at the M8. It's very nice. I have a 7970 though in order to drive a 1440P screen and my skyrim mods.

In fairness I'd love to down size and I love the style of the M8.

I guess I just react against what I already have, which is really minimal.

EVGA Hadron Air, or if you want to watercool, the Hadron Hydro is the same thing with room for a 240 rad at the top.

Both are a bit pricey and limiting, but do come with an integrated 500w PSU. In it's standard configuration it is limited to 2 drives, requires a specific DVD drive if you need one, you need to make sure the GPU isn't extra tall, etc.

However 500w is more than enough to power for whatever you can fit in that case. Awesome little cases.

I'm currently using a Corsair 350Das my main rig, but am itching for the Lian-Li PC-V359 (Silver)... Just waiting for it to show up for sale somewhere. As far as other table top suggestions...

Bitfenix Prodigy

Corsair 250D

Fractal Design Node 304 and 804

Silverstone Raven RVZ01. I have a nice set of specs put into one of these (i5 4570, 8gb DDR3, GTX 780). It's my living room "next-gen console" and I fucking love it.

I have a Cooler Master N200 on my desk

I have a NZXT source 210 elite sitting on my desk. IMO its the perfect size to keep on a desk. I do have a pretty large desk but its really not that big. Plus its only $50!

I got a Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower with 3- 230mm fans that I use as a room divider an air purifier and if I am ever evicted there is room for the whole family to sleep inside..
