Having played the original Descent on a 486 and disappointed with todays games I took a chance on this while it is in early release.
First couple of times it froze......every time. Now just once in a while but usually on exit.
8320e w/ asrock 970 and xboost enabled, GTX 770 reference card, Linux Mint 17.3
I find this game to be a blast. What really impresses me is the game engine. The 770 heats up to 81 C so I am guessing it's getting a workout and it doesn't look like it is just using one core.
Sreenshots after shutdown: cpu temp is always off by 20 or 30 degrees
I'm just a trucker with no formal IT training. To me it looks like its using all 8 cylinders
Acording to the Linux Gaming website there are 2 simular games coming out, Neonsomething and the original Descent guys are crowdfunding a return. Maybe we will see the return of the JOYSTICK!!!!!!
Still using the stock AMD cooler:)
