It boggles my mind that Navis the coder doesn’t make use of any sort of tool but create each effect and demo from scratch. Assembler/C++ or go home, or smt.
I know that most people are more impressed with the size based stuff from the scene like 4k and 64k limitation demos. But some groups like ASD just does stuff that boggles my mind every time. Especially granted that they do not develop any development tools to use, which is the norm for most groups to have their own dev tools. ASD really is the art of algorithms in its most pure form.
Well, sorry to have introduced you to Pouet then. It is the scene archive as you probably have already figured out and you can find demos going back 30 years for all kinds of obscure formats. I think 15.000+ for the dos/win alone, made in the last two decades. Surprisingly, while Linux demos does exists, they are pretty rare which is kind of odd for a largely underground tech community like the scene.
