yea, that was my bad, I read through the whole thread like 5 times and lost track of 5xxx vs 4xxx.
The Fan Connectors are different than usual but there are a few pictures online on how to change the pin Order and you are good to go, mine still Works Fine and Sits behind my dream machine pro and Passes trough Vlans.
Chatgpt is quite versed on how to manage that Switch I learned alot from it.
My license is still kicking and Survived a Factory reset to.

Ok, Have tried every Dell Sonic image I can find, installs but sees no interfaces. Tried OPX, doesn’t install correctly. Installer says it installs but nothing. Flashed new firmware and updated Onie. Dell wants $1500 for a one year license for OS10. So unless someone has a suggestion or a ONL image I can try, I may be sending this one back.
yeah seems like you can’t get the free perpetual license. dell ess offering perpetual licenses for the 5xx series to try to stop sonic from becoming more functional but really it’s just the control software for broadcom chipsets.
don’t know what the difference is but it seems like 4000 sries is a different chipset. if you register the service tag and do t have a free os10 download in the digital locker you’re probably stuck.
there was one specific version of os10 that would complain about being unlicensed but was otherwise fully functional. otherwise it reboots the switch every 3 days
Here is a PDF with Dell switches and their SONiC support. The 4-series an 51-series are not listed as they don’t have a supported ASIC.

On another note;
I’ve found out that the free version of SONiC is limited in it’s VXLAN features.
- Maximum of 5 tunnels per switch
- Maxmimum of 128 unique VNI per switch
- Maximum of 64 VRF to seperate the 128 VNI
So bottomline is you can distribute 128 VLAN to VNI mappings between 5 switches over VXLAN, if you want more there is Enterprise SONiC from Dell/Broadcom/Edgecore/Asterfusion/theoneIforgot.
I can’t find much info on this switch other than this post. How can you adjust fan speeds or Noctua swap/enable non Dell SFP+ optics/DAC command/enable RDMA support. Thanks.
On SONiC or OS10?
Did you find any solution to this presmike? I bought two refurbished S4148F-ON switches both without an OS and it seems impossible to even buy OS10 from dell unless you transfer ownership of the switches and SONiC support is still missing for S4100 due to the Maverick ASIC thats not supported.
Any help or guidance here would be much appreciated! Even suggestions on other OS to investigate 
This post was extremely helpful in at least getting SONiC OS installed on my S5212F-ON. I have an issue though, which I wonder if is releated to other posts here. The Interfaces do not come up. I really wonder if there is a difference betwen Dell SONiC and Open Source SONiC images. The behavhiour I see is almost as if SONiC is unable to truly configure the ports.

The code changes are patched in later versions though but the l3_ecmp_levels=2 on S5232 solved all my evpn problems
Oh for anybody looking for an OS10 alternative OS for their Dell switch (and isn’t afraid of a bad time) this is the open source underlying OS that it is based on.
When it used to be my job to help folks with those switches, we’d point folks at it every now and again, but it does not have any of the cisco-styled command interface.
