I have built several T7810 dual-CPU computers. I have tried to build several T7910 dual-CPU computers and the first CPU works, but the second one doesn’t. There is no error code, no video out, no light-up of the keyboard. Every time it’s the same.
I have updated the BIOS. I have experience and it feels to me there’s some secret jumper or BIOS setting of which i’m not aware. I have tried with 4 different T7910 motherboards already. Every time the first CPU socket works fine, but when i add a CPU of the same stepping to the second socket, it doesn’t boot. Any tips?
What CPU did you use? What was the ram configuration
Intel Xeon 4669 V3 LGA2011-3 CPU, same stepping.
RAM is 4GB MICRON 4 DDR4 2133 ECC straight from the compatibility list published by Dell.
The perplexing thing is that the exact same setup works in the T7810 motherboard, but in the T7910 motherboard, it only works with 1 CPU, and i’ve tried 4 motherboards so far, each one has the same behavior. No flashing error codes, no video, no keyboard light-up. Remove the second CPU, and everything works fine.
Ensure you’re populating the memory modules in a supported configuration. See page 51
