Deleting files long that the file system supports?

The title pretty much says it all.

I have files with OBSCENELY long file and path names and I can 't do anything with them; the directory I want to delete is already in the root of the drive.

I'd like to burn them but I cannot...I even tried using the command prompt and no dice.

help will be greatly appreciated.

I used to use Ubunut (I have software with no linux equivalent)

I'd rather just boot off usb...I was just hoping there was a way without booting as such.
