i am planning a custom loop and i already checked out all the parts i want to use, i am going to use an ek x-res 140 reservoir with a d5 pump combo and according to a couple of build logs i have seen i may have to drill a hole into the top of the hard drive cage in order to fit it where i want to use it, or i can velcro it to the top of the cage but i won't be able to use the speed dial, will drilling two holes into the hdd cage void the warranty of the fractal design define r4
yes but how often does anyone RMA a case
I'd assume if you drilled holes into the case then it would void the warranty.
He wan't to know because I'm assuming he thinks if he fucks up his DIY they'll just send him a new one. They won't.
I wasn't daft enough to think that, i was thinking more along the lines of something to do with the front panel but i have just visited fractal designs spare parts page for the define r4 and i can get a new cage if i do need to rma it which will be much cheaper than buying a new case plus doing that i they accepted it( don't see why if it was a new unmodified cage) then i can switch hdd cages round or get a new front panel from them and swap them round, it will be fine basically as any spare parts i can get from there, its an eu site as i lie in the uk
