Defective DVI-I port on GPU (DP2710 1440p)

Hey guy, I've been scratching my head with this one for the a day or two.

I purchased a 1440p DP2710 Korean monitor to use with my HD7990. I am unable to get the monitor to display an image. I am using the supplied dual link DVI-D cable and power cables and the display blue standby LED just flashes continuously but never displays an image even in the BIOS and safe-mode.

I managed to find an old Geforce 210 card and tested the monitor on that and it works without issue but this doesn't solve my problem.

I now know the monitor and the cable are not defective.

So is this a defective DVI port on my 7990 or a driver issue? The DVI port on the 7990 works over analogue with an adapter so I am not sure. I have the latest 14.4 non beta drivers from AMD.

I suspect the DVI port is dead as the card did take a tumble once when was installing a waterblock and the earthing shroud for the port was partially crushed! All the mini displayports work so until now it hasn't been a problem as the DVI port was only used for the analogue on an old VGA secondary monitor.

If it is the DVI port, is there any way I can diagnose or fix it or failing that, could I use an adapter on one of the mini displayports to drive the monitor?

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Not sure why this worked but my card was installed into the second PCIe 16x slot so I tried moving it to the top slot and it worked. Also had to re-install the drivers again but all working now.
