Seriously this attitude is why the planet is dying. If you can’t get 50 years out of a computer its bad hardware and needs to be recycled immediately, unless theres a special exception of some sort (Convenience of the steam deck as a new mobile platform to replace my laptop, for instance)
For GRaid? Yeah its neat but I couldn’t ever use that. I could get away with an imac and stiped fw drives and be fine if I’m honest.
Don’t do file management with a pentium 4. They are extremely good for batch data requests, making them excellent networking hardware, but handling large data sets (talking cache level here) larger than 64-set 16kb chunks you’ll have issues on pipeline choke from a bubble popping up.
Ah well in that case there may be a reason to keep to debian then. The devs make too much work out of nothing to make sure anything from a macbook 2016 to a turbostation from '92 can run linux XD
Anyways good luck. Check out EOS for sure. Its debian based so its not like system level wise anything is even different, and it takes the annoyance away by just usurping APT altogether.
