For a week or two I have had a strange problem with my PSU. Whenever I plugged in the power cord to the computer it took up to 2 hours before my computer got power. It started with just over a minute and it just got longer and longer but now it doesn’t work at all.
I’ve had some problem with the fuse blowing whenever I plugged in my computer. It didn’t happen too often. I’ve ask my uncle about it (his electrician) and he said he could change the fuse the fix it.
I’ve tried a different power cord, a different socket and a different circuit in the house and nothing work. There’s also no noise whatsoever from the PSU or any other part in the computer when it connected.
I don’t have any spare parts to test if there something wrong with another part in my computer.
I was experiencing random BSOD (0x0000007f UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP) is there any chance there related?
Unplug EVERYTHING from your power supply use a paperclip to perform the single jump shown below on the 24 pin connector (since you have a Corsair you probably don't have colored wires so pay close attention to the orientation of the connector relative to the image below in order to not hurt yourself) this should power the supply up, see if the supply does anything when not connected to any components
I unplugged everything from my PSU and did the single jump thing and nothing happened. Should I buy a new PSU and if so what can you recommend? I was thinking about the HX750i.
Thanks for the tips however it’s more expensive than the HX850i her in Norway. The EVGA Supernova g2 750w looks pretty good and it’s cheaper than the HX750i should I get it instead? thanks a lot for the help.
