This is posted on behalf of a friend of mine with the problem above.
He has a Freecom PSO88E USB drive and he cant access it.
i have tried it with different USB cables that are in working order and it still is not detected within windows.
there is a HDD which seems to me the drive has not fried due to over voltage or anything.
he has some valuable items on that drive he would like back so ideas on what could be done for them to be put onto USB or something?

If it isn't being detected, nothing it's done for. There are drive recovery services but they aren't cheap.
pull it out of the enclousre and plug it into a pc
yeah ino and data recovery aint always 100% reliable also, they may not get everything, shame really but thanks anyway

sure the bios is set to detect usb storage devices (some can be akward like that),
If it's really important data like company information, family photos and such, the very spicy price tag to recover it might be worth it. From what I've heard, it's a $1000+ process.
